Dr. Carla Maxwell Ray, CFRE, is a visionary leader, and her expertise includes fundraising, strategic planning, external relations, Board development, marketing, and non-profit management. Her motto is BillionsforGod. She authored Five Pillars of a First Class Life, a guide to financial freedom and mission-driven living. Dr. Carla is a Sr. Generosity Strategist with Generis, a Christian firm that accelerates generosity in churches and nonprofits.

Dr. Carla has successfully raised millions and helped conclude campaigns raising over one billion dollars. She was an institutional advancement administrator at Spelman and Morehouse Colleges and, later, at the University of Maryland College Park, where she helped their campaigns significantly exceed goals. In addition, she was vice president at the National Office of Boys & Girls Clubs of America. She helped start the nonprofit division at Generis. Dr. Carla now works with our county’s largest and most powerful churches and nonprofits, coaching them through generosity initiatives.

Throughout her career, Dr. Carla worked with CEOs, pastors, philanthropists, and celebrities, including Warren Buffet, Denzel Washington, Oprah Winfrey, Ted Turner, Ed Harris, Jane Fonda, Patti Labelle, the late Maya Angelou, Tyra Banks, BET’s Bob Johnson, Quincy Jones, and the late Ray Charles. Dignitaries include Former Surgeon General David Satcher, Ambassador Andrew Young, the late Claes Nobel, the senior member of the family that founded the Nobel Prizes, and several Nobel Laureates. Sports legends include John Elway, Dr. Julius Erving, the late Hank Aaron, Grant Hill, Tennis Legend Stan Smith, Len Elmore, and Golf Architect Tom Fazio.

Dr. Carla graduated as valedictorian from Lincoln University, holds an MBA from the University of Delaware, and has an honorary Doctor of Humane Letters from Hood Theological Seminary. She is also a lifetime member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Lincoln University Alumni Association, and NCNW.

She is happily married to Pastor Robert A. Ray. Rev. Ray, President, and Dr. Carla co-owned a senior relocation & downsizing company that helps with de-cluttering, estate, and online sales. In addition, Dr. Carla enjoys swimming, gardening, and mentoring others to establish debt-free and prosperous healthy lifestyles.
